Leaders at Cornerstone Church sought to spread their values and grow their congregation by creating a more engaging and effective experience during sermons and plays in their auditorium.
Before consulting Delta AV, a basic on-off switch limited control of their stage lights. Congregation leaders wanted more dynamic options for events.
A Collaborative Solution
Unique to Cornerstone’s situation, was the multi-use nature of the auditorium. The auditorium, which is leased from Powell Elementary School, was undergoing several concurrent updates. Because of this, Delta sought in advance to collaborate with representatives from the school and their contractors. This included collaborating with electricians to document outlet placement and circuit requirements for the lights. The DeltaAV team coordinated with stage contractors on site by creating AutoCad installation plans to overlay onto their drawings helping to facilitate discussion about placements and dimensions. The drawings also communicated electrical needs to ensure proper execution of curtain and lighting placements. This collaboration allowed Delta AV to create a truly customized solution that benefited all use cases.
Delta AV designed and installed a completely new lighting system with programmable functions, 240 presets, and new lights with a full spectrum of colors for the church’s auditorium. Once the installation was complete, the Delta AV team created a custom user's manual to operate the lighting system. The manual allowed for fast adoption by new users and an increased understanding of the system’s wider capabilities. Beyond the tailored manual, the Delta AV team continues to support the build with in-person technical assistance if needed.
Results
The new lighting setup provides the Cornerstone team more control over their presentations and performances, resulting in an increase in the efficacy of their message to a more receptive audience. Staff and students at Powell Elementary School continue to use the auditorium as well, benefiting from the more controlled illumination of their plays, programs, and performances.
